Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose of Job:

Maintenance Manager oversees and is responsible for the running of the CAR 145 approved maintenance facilities, ensuring the satisfactory completion and certification of all maintenance tasks by Staff under his/her control, including subcontracted Staff. The Manager is required to monitor and evaluate all procedures to ensure standards are complied with whilst conducting all maintenance activities. The Maintenance Manager ensures that all maintenance required to be carried plus any defect rectification carried out during maintenance, is carried out to the design and quality standards, and is responsible for any corrective action resulting from the quality compliance monitoring

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Ensure that Line and Base Maintenance and any relative defect rectification are carried out to the design and quality standards specified in this MOE.

2. Conduct frequent inspection of the facilities approved by the CAA.

3. Supervise the activities of Certifying Staff and Other Than Certifying Staff under department.

4. Manage with the Production Planning each phase of maintenance, repair or modification.

5. Ensure that the liaison with the CAA is adequate and consistent.

6. Ensure the monthly rosters for aircraft maintenance are adequately staffed according to the AMO’s scope of work, considering skills, type ratings, limitations, and privileges of each maintenance staff member, while also preparing, managing, and overseeing the execution of annual leave plans for the team.

7 Coordinate with material and store the inventory material control to achieve best performance and objectives. Such an inventory includes the minimum consumables and standard parts on the basis of reliability, defect rectification analysis, MEL, etc…

8 Propose amendments to the MOE and ensure that the staff read and sign the MOE, QINs, or any other internal memos upon delivery.

9 Develop and increase AMO scope of work and manage with the Quality Manager any application in the scope of extending the aircraft maintenance capability.

10 Identify safety hazards and security threats, assess the resulting risk, mitigate the risk to an acceptable level and implement the necessary measures, to be monitored.

11 Evaluate the performance of the staff and assess the annual manpower plan to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

12 Implement a training program for the staff and ensure they attend necessary training to maintain their experience and qualifications.

13 Ensure compliance with company health, safety and environment policies and regulations.

Principal Challenges:

· Maintaining the safety standards of all maintenance activities in line with the applicable regulations and recognized best practices.

· Maintaining the efficient and cost-effective maintenance standards

· Meeting the technical and licensing requirements of CARs

Minimum Academic / Professional Qualification:

Relevant engineering or technical degree, or license.

Minimum Work Experience:

1) Comprehensive knowledge of the CAR 145 and any other significant associated requirements and procedures relevant for the position and the Company capability and scope of work,

2) Full knowledge of the MOE,

3) 5 years of relevant work experience appropriate position (supervisory or managerial experience position as appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks),

4) Have successfully achieved the training requirements for the type(s) rating of the aircraft in the scope of work or on a similar aircraft type, at least at ATA 104, Level 1 “General Familiarisation” provided by an approved and recognized MTOE or by any other organisation that is accepted by the CAA,

5) Training required by CCM

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Must be approved by CAA as a Nominated Person.
  • Knowledge of organizational development, human resources, and helicopter operations.
  • Strong supervisory skills, including regular progress reviews and plans for improvement.
  • General office software, in particular.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Must have an acceptable knowledge of English language with level of understanding compatible with the level of privileges exercised.
