Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Project / Job Location: Amunet 500MW Wind Power Project / Ras Ghareb Egypt
Reporting to: Site Manager
Direct Reports: Site Staff
Responsibilities
- Ensure all substation & maintenance activities comply with local, national, and international safety and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the upkeep team.
- Track turbine performance data to spot potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure parts, tools, and resources are available when needed.
- Document on-site turbine maintenance activities, tracking completed tasks and identifying future needs.
- Responsible to perform all obligations and rights outlined in the PPA, NCC, LTSA, Common Terms Agreement (CTA) and other associated agreements.
- Liaison with EETC and other external agencies on behalf of owner company Amunet Wind Power Company S.A.E. (AWPC).
- Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with Egyptian organizations including but not limited to, EETC, NREA, other business partners, etc. in coordination with the site manager and AWPC General Manager.
- Communicating with the Site manager, GM, CFO, BOD and shareholders.
- Ensure timely data collection for plant performance and optimization as well as invoicing to EETC (with supports of AWPC finance department).
- Provide leadership in the areas of operations/maintenance and strategic direction, oversight of O&M projects and third-party contactors (Long Term Service Agreement, and etc.), cost-saving opportunities, O&M staff management/recruitment, and policy creation/implementation.
- Confer with the site manager, GM and CFO/finance department for the timely management of the lenders requirements where it relates to technical, O&M, and E&S, and etc as appropriate.
- Responsible for providing shareholders with necessary information which is necessary for shareholders management purpose.
- Participate in and contribute to AWPC board/shareholder meetings where necessary.
- Maintain Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports as reasonably required by AWPC shareholders and/or the project lenders.
- Compliance with legal and other requirements.
- Ensures implementation of Corrective and Preventive actions.
- Monitor progress against agreed programmes and advise AMPC s Management of any potential programme delays or concerns.
- Liaise closely with the site manager, GM and CFO on all elements of technical and Commercial Management, including any day works issues, sub-contract valuations and any contra charges to be applied to sub-contract accounts
Health Safety and Environment Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence. Promoting a culture of Health and Safety and Zero harm to the employees, the environment and the community. The [Maintenance Manager] will lead by example the Health and Safety program by regularly conducting site safety inspections and shall convene a site safety committee to ensure all observations and opportunities for improvement are tracked.
- Ensure there is an effective company policy for health and safety and that all employees, contractors and temporary workers are made aware of their individual responsibility.
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment.
- Provide adequate resources (including financial annual budget), information and training.
- Be the advisor of the Management HSE committee.
- Make provision for adequate and appropriate training to be given to all employees.
- Ensure that the management addresses all Health & Safety matters.
- In charge overall of safety and emergency preparedness and response.
Business Continuity Management Responsibilities:
- Own the BCM Policy and its annual review.
- Ensure BCM systems are subject to a scheduled review.
- Formal BCM test schedule established, fulfilled and reviewed.
- Arrange for periodic evaluation via internal / external audit.
Accountability:
- Achieving budget targets.
- Budgetary control.
- Conduct O&M function in line with PPA and other associated agreements.
- Comply with LTSA for parts procurement with Envision Energy.
- Comply with CTA and other financing agreements where it relates to technical, O&M, and E&S.
- Complying with legal and other requirements.
- Major incidents leading to reportable accidents.
- Overall QHSE performance.
- Employee attribution.
- Employee welfare.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in large utility-scale wind power plant as maintenance manager.
- Experience in O&M of 220kV Substation.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning (scheduling).
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Masters in Business related subject will be a plus.
Required Skills
- Operation and Maintenance Management.
- Electrical equipment maintenance and testing.
- In-depth knowledge of high-voltage equipment, protection schemes, and control systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for substations
- Commercial Awareness& Contracts Management.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Wind power Asset Management software experience
- Excellent written and oral communication in Arabic and English.
- Flexibility to work away from home and in remote area.
