Maintenance Manager - Heavy Duty Equipment Veolia Oman

The Maintenance Manager – Heavy Equipment is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and availability of heavy machinery and fleet equipment. The role ensures optimal equipment performance, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, cost control, and minimal downtime to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Operations

• Plan and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for heavy equipment (earthmoving, lifting, construction, and support equipment).
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability with minimal downtime.
• Supervise diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and component rebuilds (engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical systems).
• Monitor equipment condition, breakdown trends, and implement corrective actions.

Team Management

• Lead, train, and supervise maintenance supervisors, engineers, technicians, and mechanics.
• Allocate manpower effectively based on workload and project priorities.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and skill-development needs.

Planning & Budget Control

• Prepare and control maintenance budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement for timely availability
• Control maintenance costs while maintaining equipment reliability and safety.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, OEM standards, and local regulatory requirements.
• Implement safe work procedures, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Ensure equipment certifications, inspections, and statutory requirements are up to date.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, service histories, and reports.
• Prepare KPI reports on equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
• Use CMMS/ERP systems for planning and tracking maintenance activities.

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with operations, projects, and site teams to align maintenance schedules.
• Liaise with OEMs, vendors, and service providers for technical support and warranty issues.
• Support equipment mobilization, demobilization, and commissioning activities.
