Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage all maintenance functions across the school facilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with technical standards and school policies.
- Monitor performance and reliability of all building systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Identify operational risks, system deficiencies, and propose corrective and preventive solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with (HSE) policies and international school standards.
- Support internal and external inspections, audits, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Manage maintenance-related budgets and ensure cost control within approved limits.
- Oversee maintenance contracts, service level agreements, and contractor performance.
- Prepare and submit periodic maintenance, performance, and compliance reports to senior management.
- Day-to-Day Tasks and Operational Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily maintenance activities and ensure smooth operation of school facilities.
- Review daily work orders, assign tasks to maintenance teams, and monitor progress and completion.
- Ensure prompt response to breakdowns, emergency calls, and urgent maintenance issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities, and outdoor areas.
- Monitor daily operation of MEP systems and respond to alarms or system faults.
- Coordinate with academic and administrative departments to minimize disruption to school activities.
- Verify quality of completed maintenance works and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs, checklists, and operational records.
- Review and approve daily service reports, attendance records, and work completion documentation.
- Ensure availability and proper use of tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials.
- Follow up on preventive maintenance schedules and ensure tasks are executed as planned.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance or facility management.
- Previous experience in international schools, educational facilities, or large-scale complexes is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of building services and maintenance operations.
- Thorough understanding of HSE regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution.
- Strong budget control and cost management skills.
- Excellent leadership, supervision, and team management capabilities.
- High level of organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience in contractor, vendor, and service provider management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance reporting systems.
