Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Maintenance manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of company outlet’s physical facilities. They are responsible for preserving the good condition of company outlets infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

1. Facility and Equipment Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all physical aspects of the Food service and Retail units including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and structural components.
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment, appliances, and fixtures to ensure that they are in good working condition.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment breakdowns and unexpected issues.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment, furniture, fixtures and supplies to meet the health and safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of the outlets to detect and resolve problems and plan repair and maintenance activities, as required.
  • Receive and evaluate repair requests from outlets and prioritize the activities based on the criticalness of the situation.
  • Ensure obtaining necessary permits and approvals before implementing the repair / maintenance activity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance the overall guest experience through facility improvements.
  • Develop maintenance SOPs and procedures and ensure thorough implementation across all company outlets.
  • Collaborate with Branch management and employees to address maintenance-related concerns and coordinate maintenance schedules that minimize disruptions to the business operations.

2. Inventory Control and Budget Management:

  • Create and manage the maintenance budget, including cost estimates for repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Assign repair schedules and negotiate repair cost estimates with external contractors / service providers as required.
  • Oversee equipment and spare parts stock and place order for new supplies when necessary, to ensure timely availability for repairs.
  • Manage the maintenance expenses by ensuring best practices in the industry and monitor the maintenance budgets for effective utilization.

3. Vendor Management:

  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and service providers for repairs, installations, and maintenance work.
  • Maintain a good database of external service providers to tap on the resources for timely completion of the maintenance projects / requests.
  • Build upkeep long term relationships with contractors and service providers, negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work.
  • Receive and evaluate repair requests thoroughly to determine if the repairs should be performed in-house or through a contracted repair service.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that the Food service and Retail outlets comply with safety regulations including fire safety, health inspections, energy efficiency requirements, government regulations and Airport compliance.
  • Stay informed about local and airport regulations related to facility and maintenance codes.
  • Suggest and implement energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives to reduce utility costs.
  • Ensure that the company outlets and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition.
  • Implement workplace safety policies and standards.
  • Establish protocols for responding to emergency situations such as equipment failures, power outages, or plumbing issues.
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected events that could impact the outlet’s physical facilities.

5. Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenses, and equipment service histories.
  • Ensure safe keeping of all maintenance records on digital platform for future reference.
  • Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
  • Develop and present maintenance dashboards to the Line Manager to showcase the response time and effectiveness of the maintenance activities.

6. Team Management:

  • Supervise maintenance staff, assign tasks, and evaluate their performance.
  • Supervise and effectively lead all maintenance processes and operations.
  • Train the technicians and other maintenance employees on equipment usage, safety procedures, airport protocols and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Coach, mentor, train and develop the team to help them manage current and future maintenance requirements.
