Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement corporate communication strategy aligned with NEDC s strategic direction and regulatory requirements. Ensure all communication reflects OIA and shareholder priorities.
  • Manage internal communication channels to cascade corporate strategy, business updates, and cultural values. Develop and execute employee engagement campaigns.
  • Lead external communication efforts including media relations, press releases, website, social media, and public statements. Maintain consistent corporate branding across all channels.
  • Coordinate crisis communication strategy, ensuring preparedness, rapid response, and alignment with executive leadership during incidents.
  • Develop and oversee production of corporate publications, newsletters, annual reports, and regulatory communication materials. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
  • Provide communication support for corporate events, shareholder meetings, regulatory engagements, and community initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and counsel the communication team to achieve departmental objectives. Identify and develop a pipeline of future communication leaders through structured mentoring and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key media, industry associations, government communication departments, and regulators.
  • Monitor communication trends, stakeholder sentiment, and media coverage. Provide periodic insights and recommend proactive strategies for improvement.
  • Plan and oversee the annual communication budget and work plan, ensuring cost efficiency, resource optimization, and alignment with corporate objectives
  • Manage and oversee external communication agencies, media partners, and event vendors supporting NEDC s creative, branding, and public engagement activities; ensure deliverables meet corporate standards, timelines, and budget expectations.
  • Ensure strategic documentation and communications comply with IT security policies and ISO standards.
  • Promote and integrate IT security and HSE considerations during strategy planning and execution oversight.
  • Report any identified HSE non-compliance risks during monitoring processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, or related field.
  • Master s degree in Communication/Management is a plus.
  • Professional certifications in corporate communication, PR, Media/ Social Media are desirable.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 9+ years of progressive experience in corporate communication, public relations, or media management.
  • Strong background in utilities/energy sector or regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in crisis communication, media management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership position.
