Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The role of the Manager - Digital Product Design will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of end-to-end user experience design, including research, ideation, conception, detailed design, prototypes and validation across multiple products and areas. They will work with a number of product teams to guide design and collaborate with counterparts in the digital product team and within CCMB, and ensure the delivery of the highest quality product design solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of designers (both in- and out-sourcing models), setting clear goals, managing project loads and allocating designers accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met and setting up team members for overall success.
- Provide governance of visual and interaction design standards including overall responsibility for the department design system. Constantly review and makes improvements to guidelines and workflows.
- Leads the design team's approach to information architecture, multi-step, and cross-platform flows considering the holistic user experience. Ensure effective prototyping and user testing techniques.
- Use design thinking process to educate designers, product owners and the wider CCMB team on how to best approach problems.
- Collaborate with backlog, objectives and key results (OKR) definition. Oversee roadmap development and goals, ensure solutions achieve measurable and impactful goals.
- Ensure qualitiative and quantitave data and OKRs inform all work and that roadmaps are user-centered and data-informed.
- Coach designers on presentation and communication abilities. Provide an empathic leadership approach, but also project assertiveness.
- Take a leadership role in cross-discipline initiatives: responsible for overall end-to-end product design process including all channels, devices, and dependencies.
- Work with Manager Digital Product and Manager Production to ensure that overall digital product delivery is of high standards. Foster a digital product operating model that supports effective collaboration, mutual respect and efficiency across the product development value chain.
Knowledge/skills:
- Experience overseeing an IxD in an international service organization, tasked with delivering product design for a wide range user groups and for different lines of business (international contexts, multi-language localization, accessibility for people with disabilities, etc.)
- Expert knowledge of user experience /interface design patterns process and standard UCD methodologies
- Data-driven design skills, knowledge, production value and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to create wireframes as well as interactive prototypes
- Demonstrated expertise in web standards and accessibility standards.
- Active interest in supporting ongoing growth and development of IxD at Emirates
- Extensive knowledge of DesignOps
Desired Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3) or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- 8+ years experience experience of designing digital products for mobile web in travel service marketing airline or a related industry
- Ability to articulate a comprehensive product design vision for Emirates Group businesses, align teams on common standards, as well understand granularity to ensure the highest quality solutions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading and inspiring design teams.
- Familiarity with user research programs and testing methodologies.
