Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure legal requirements for health and safety in the UAE is maintained in the Factory, Warehouse & premise.
  • To liaison and comply with Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Investments Park and other relevant Government authorities.
  • Management of Solid Waste and Waste Water.
  • Responsible for Dangerous goods handling and permit system. Implementation of Permit system and SOP's for Dangerous goods handling.
  • Identification and control of workplace hazards - Daily observation.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place as per SOP.
  • Conduct safety induction for employees and Contract workmen.
  • Co-ordinate with all the stakeholders in case of accident or emergency situation and complete the investigation of accident with corrective and preventive action.
  • Implementation of Confined Space entry procedure, Fire alarm plan and evacuation procedure, work as per SOP, Permit to Work System, Implementation of Accident/Incident Statics board etc.
  • Inspection of fire extinguisher, fire alarm system, fire sprinkler system, fire fighting pump and system, and PPEs. Constant monitoring of confined space O2 gas.
  • To prepare fire alarm plan and evacuation plan, Identify the hazards and outline appropriate control measures in the following areas: Environmental Performance Indicator, Working at height, excavation work & confined spaces & demolition.
  • To carry out safety inspection of the workplace - identifying hazards, recommending control measures and preparing a management report.
  • Provide training to workmen, conduct mock drills and coordinate with vendors of fire alarm protection system, Environmental air quality monitoring, Industrial waste water chemical analysis.
  • Responsible for end to end Pest Control program and its effectiveness.
  • Conduct & lead Monthly EHS Committee meetings.
  • Handling of EHS audits: CAPA preparation and timely closure of observations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with Diploma in Safety/Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP.
  • Minimum 8 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE EHS regulations and international best practices.
  • In depth knowledge of site specialist work rules and should be able to conduct risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environment.
