Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Manager-Export Sales –Africa Region will drive the commercial performance of the Beauty Care portfolio across assigned West African markets. The role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, expanding distributor and retail networks, driving team performance, and ensuring revenue and profitability growth. This position plays a critical role in growing brand equity, market share, and consumer reach in one of the most dynamic emerging markets for beauty products.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement country-specific sales strategies aligned with regional objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partners, and channels to grow the Beauty Care portfolio.
  • Drive top-line growth and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Lead price negotiation, trade terms, and promotional planning with distributors and retail partners.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and monitor a high-performing team of Sales Executives/Area Managers across West Africa.
  • Set KPIs, review performance, and implement training/coaching plans.
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and agile team culture.

Distributor & Channel Management

  • Manage relationships with key distributors, ensuring effective coverage, stock availability, and service levels.
  • Evaluate and optimize distribution structures for cost efficiency and market penetration.
  • Conduct regular joint market visits and business reviews.

Trade Marketing & Consumer Activation

  • Collaborate with marketing and trade marketing teams to develop tailored campaigns and in-store activations.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and consumer preferences to refine commercial strategies.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure forecast accuracy, timely order processing, and proper documentation for exports.
  • Monitor receivables, credit limits, and collection timelines with finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customs requirements in each market.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or International Trade (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of sales/export experience in FMCG/Beauty/Personal Care sector with 3+ years handling West Africa markets.
  • Proven success in team management and channel development.
  • Strong understanding of export logistics, documentation, and regional trade dynamics.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English (French is a strong advantage).
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the region.
