Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end‑to‑end gold inventory management including raw gold, WIP, semi‑finished, and finished goods.
Ensure accurate inventory accounting, reconciliation, and traceability across all SCM touchpoints.
Define and monitor inventory norms, safety stock levels, and turnover targets.
Lead periodic physical audits and cycle counts, ensuring zero variance and high accuracy.
Implement controls to minimize inventory losses, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SCM efficiency, throughput, and productivity.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements using Lean / Six Sigma principles.
Standardize operating procedures across inventory handling, storage, dispatch, and receiving.
Improve order fulfillment cycle times and service levels.
Work closely with procurement, production, logistics, and sales teams to align inventory plans with demand forecasts.
Optimize material flow across refineries, vaults, warehouses, and distribution centers.
Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure secure, compliant movement of gold.
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, statutory, and internal control requirements related to gold handling.
Implement robust security, audit, and compliance mechanisms aligned with industry best practices.
Support internal and external audits and ensure closure of audit observations.
Leverage ERP and inventory management systems for real‑time visibility and reporting.
Develop dashboards and MIS on inventory health, operational KPIs, and cost metrics.
Drive system enhancements and digital initiatives for improved SCM transparency.
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve operational and business objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree / MBA in Operations or Supply Chain (preferred).
Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, Six Sigma, or Lean Operations (preferred).
8–12 years of experience in inventory management and SCM operations, preferably within gold, precious metals, mining, refinery, bullion, or high‑value manufacturing environments.
Proven experience managing high‑value inventory with stringent control and compliance requirements.
