Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the processes by which the company will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Lead and manage legal activities and mentoring and supervising the work of the subordinate lawyers.
Provide guidance concerning legal rights and obligations and recommend best practices and courses of action related to legal issues.
Advise different business units on various legal matters including labor issues and commercial contracts.
Research the intent of laws and judicial decisions and apply them to specific circumstances as applicable to company business.
Develop corporate policies and procedures needed by the company for compliance, then communicate these policies and advise on how to communicate them to employees.
Manage and investigate any incident or violations for legal or regulatory requirements.
Report to the General Counsel all activities related to Legal update that impacts the company and workforce.
Work as the company s advocate and advisor with respect to legal matters and provide guidance concerning legal rights and obligations, and recommend best practices and courses of action related to legal issues.
Manage and coordinate all existing litigations, claims and disputes by taking proper legal action to defend the company's interest, and provide professional legal advice/opinion, interpretations, and recommendations.
Responsible for negotiating, preparing, writing, reviewing, summarizing, researching and executing a wide range of agreements and contracts, legal notices and responses thereto.
Provide legal services and advice to new business ventures and, where applicable, operate entities as required. Oversee registration and licensing activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure understanding of and compliance with the legal framework at the company as well as relevant local and international laws, protecting company's interests from any potential legal risks.
Develop legal documentation requirements, drafting & approving document layouts, complying documentation with existing local/international agreements and legislation.
Ensure legal standardization and alignment of legal related documents/formats used internally and externally for the company (such as forms and agreements) to ensure consistency and quality in presentation.
Liaise with external legal consultants / lawyers and other government agencies to obtain / solicit legal opinion(s) as well as in carrying out administrative and litigation activities where required.
Retain and manage the external counsel to represent the company in disputes and litigations and conduct reviews of different legal memorandums.
Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within his/her knowledge, skills and abilities
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in law, with minimum 12 years of previous working experience, include 3 years within leadership or managerial role.
Excellent Understanding of Saudi Labor law, and work regulations.
Previous experience in Oil, Gas or Offshore Drilling sector.
Skills:
Excellent Communication both in Arabic and English.
Excellent Planning and Organization skills
Attention to details.
Ability to work in an environment which requires flexibility and adaptability.
