Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Evaluate and quantify high-level implications of network plans.
2. Responsible for providing to executive management detailed analysis concerning the company s route traffic market conditions, competitors.
3. Develop and enhance systems, to analyze and communicate traffic and revenue data on regular basis, to assist in the development of the most suitable management information systems in coordination s with departments concerned.
4. Monitor Network Planning to consistent methodologies and procedures.
5. Prepare traffic/revenue of forecast and the annual revenue budget (in the range of BD 500 Million) based on market conditions and report actual revenue against these, highlighting variances and drivers of these variances.
6. Control multiple assumptions within complex scenarios that need to be evaluated and examined in order to conclude the optimal with the highest commercial return to the business.
7. Monitor, analyze and report on route performance and recommend changes to the current routes and sectors.
8. Perform economic analysis of any new route opportunities and progress to a business case to be presented to executive management that includes your recommendations.
9. Recommend short-term product changes to improve performance.
10. Evaluate the optimal long term (2 to 10 Years) Network Plan.
11. Participate in the fleet planning executive with CEO, Chiefs and other senior management as commercial planning representatives.
12. Develop the optimal long term fleet plan requirements.
13. Provide key resource areas with key statistics to aid their future planning.
14. Develop high level plans and impact of all competitors.
15. Responsible for providing to executive management detailed analysis concerning the company s route Profitability and Performance, traffic and market conditions.
16. Develop and enhance Network Planning systems. Some of the tools maybe and not limited to (Profit Manager, Market Intelligence Solution (DDS/MIDT, SRS Analyzer) to analyze and communicate traffic and revenue data on regular basis, to assist in the development of the most suitable management information systems in coordination s with departments concerned.
17. Develop business cases for the acquisition of best practice optimization tools.
18. Review the various contracts due for renewal or upgrade (for various data sources and the Commercial Planning System provider).
19. Critically examine alternatives and make cost benefit analysis.
20. Lead the negotiation team for technical benefits vis- -vis the cost.
21. Discuss, explain and present a thoroughly analyzed scenario evaluation for business cases while deciding upon acquiring new fleet or opening new routes and stations or increasing the frequency of flights in a particular sector.
22. Critically review and resolve issues related to interfaces of Commercial Planning systems with other systems within the company.
23. Identify all the training needs for the Commercial Planning staff, not only for the Commercial Planning Systems training but also ensuring proper skill development for the staff.
24. Lead the annual budgeting process for the Commercial Planning department.
25. Responsible for subordinates KPIs and required to complete all stages of performance management system.
26. Handling Charter flights operation, including (quotation, Negotiation, agreement, implementation and managing the clients
Desired Candidate Profile
To manage a team which is responsible for Gulf Air s Network planning activities including annual budget and designing 5-year Network Strategy that covers hub structure, fleet usage, route presence, Origin & Destination planned to capture. To quantify and performance manage network deployed, capacity/frequency and timing of specific flights within the sector./p>
To evaluate prepare business cases with supporting analysis and economic justifications for the company new strategic directions.
University degree in Management & Economics or Statistics or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in a responsible position in planning or marketing in an international airline or equivalent organization.
High level of knowledge and understanding of Finance/Network systems is essential.
