Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage and motivate the Supermarket section team to meet specific KPIs such as sales targets, profitability, customer service, shrinkage / wastage and health & safety.

Work closely with the General Manager to set, review and monitor KPIs for each product line within the Supermarket section (e.g, cosmetics, baby products etc) and communicate targets to the team.

Ensure to achieve the financial objectives by preparing annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.

Hold daily meetings with the team to review Supermarket section performance and identify / resolve any issues that may prevent the team from achieving its targets.

Ensure there is adequate stock availability of regular and promotional products in the Supermarket section at all times.

Oversee price changes and ensure price integrity for all products.

Ensure proper availability & scheduling of staff during peak and non-peak hours in the Supermarket section.

Monitor, review and track all Supermarket section activities to ensure they are in line the companys operating policies and procedures and quality standards.

Ensure all reports, such as inventory and sales are accurate and timely available.

Monitor and review all in Supermarket section procedures and make recommendations to improve efficiency ensuring all recommendations have been reviewed and signed off by the General Manager before implementation.

Monitor sales & customer feedback and make recommendations to the General Manager to determine the best merchandise for the Supermarket section to increase profitability.

Maintenance of cold rooms, frozen cabinets, refrigeration etc to be monitored.

Ensure the Supermarket section is in line with the visual merchandising & branding guidelines of the company.

Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure there is a focus on service recovery to enhance customer satisfaction.

Manage the performance of staff in line with good people management practices.
