Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operational inspections, meticulously examining all manlift components for safety and operational readiness, including controls, hydraulics, and safety devices.
- Operate manlifts to position personnel, equipment, or materials at elevated work sites, ensuring precise and controlled movements to the required locations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following fall protection procedures.
- Maintain clear communication with ground personnel and other workers, coordinating movements and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts and checking fluid levels, to keep the manlift in optimal working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor or maintenance personnel, preventing potential accidents.
- Understand and interpret load charts and capacity limits, preventing overloading the manlift and ensuring stability during operations.
- Secure the manlift properly when not in use, including parking on a level surface and engaging the parking brake, to prevent unwanted movement.
- Participate in regular safety training and refresher courses, staying current with best practices and industry standards.
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of the manlift, including positioning the machine and ensuring proper stabilization for safe operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent, providing a foundational level of education.
- Possession of a valid manlift operator certification, demonstrating competence and compliance with safety standards.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating manlifts in a construction or similar environment, showcasing practical application of skills.
- Prior experience within the construction industry, providing familiarity with job site dynamics and safety protocols.
- No specific nationality preference, promoting diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
- Proficiency in English, enabling effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Strong understanding of manlift mechanics and hydraulics, facilitating efficient and safe operation.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety regulations, ensuring a commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness, ensuring precise and controlled manlift operations.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and work at heights for extended periods, essential for performing the job duties.
- Candidates must have IPAF Certification.
