Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections of marine vessels, structures, and equipment to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform detailed assessments of vessel conditions, including hull integrity, machinery functionality, and navigational systems, generating comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marine safety management systems and procedures, offering recommendations for improvement to enhance operational safety.
  • Investigate marine incidents and accidents, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing reports to determine the root causes and contributing factors.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field, providing a strong technical foundation.
  • Holds a valid Marine Engineer's license or equivalent certification, demonstrating competence in marine operations and systems.
  • Certified as a Marine Surveyor or Inspector by a recognized maritime organization, showcasing expertise in inspection techniques.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in ship operations, maintenance, or surveying, offering practical knowledge.
