Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve material submittals in line with project specifications
  • Conduct and supervise laboratory and field testing of materials (soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregates)
  • Ensure compliance with UAE standards (DM, RTA, AASHTO, ASTM)
  • Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and contractors on material-related issues
  • Monitor asphalt mix designs, trial mixes, and production processes
  • Inspect and approve sources of materials (quarries, plants, suppliers)
  • Maintain records of test results, approvals, and compliance reports
  • Identify and resolve material-related issues to maintain project quality
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials on site
  • Support quality audits and site inspections

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or Material Engineering

5 10 years of experience in road and infrastructure projects (UAE preferred)

Strong knowledge of asphalt, concrete, soil mechanics, and aggregates

Familiarity with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and international standards

Experience in material testing laboratories and site quality control

Key Skills:

Material testing and analysis

Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)

Attention to detail and accuracy

Strong reporting and documentation skills

Problem-solving and technical decision-making

Preferred Qualifications:

UAE driving license

Experience with approved labs and third-party testing agencies

Knowledge of mix design software and lab equipment

Membership in professional engineering bodies (optional)
