Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Material Receiving Inspection (MRI): Perform visual and dimensional inspections of all incoming permanent project materials, including pipes, valves, structural steel, and raw materials, verifying them against Purchase Orders (POs) and Material Specifications.

  • Document Review: Verify material test certificates (MTC), heat numbers, batch numbers, and conformity to technical specifications.

  • Source Inspection: Conduct pre-shipment checks and vendor inspections to ensure quality at the source.

  • Preservation and Storage: Supervise material preservation, storage conditions, and handling procedures to prevent deterioration during project execution.

  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify defects or irregularities, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and verify corrective/preventive actions.

  • Coordination: Liaise with procurement, construction, and EPC contractors to ensure timely inspection and clearance of materials.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, daily, weekly, and monthly reports to document material status.

  • HSE Compliance: Ensure all inspection activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies. 

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or a related Engineering discipline (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in material inspection within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.

  • Certifications:

    • ASNT Level II in NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) is highly desirable.

    • API 510/570 certification (Pressure Vessel/Piping) is often required.

    • CSWIP or AWS welding inspector certifications are a plus.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of international codes (ASME, API, ASTM, BS, ISO, Shell DEP) and material specifications.

  • Skills: Proficiency in SAP QM (Quality Module) and MS Office; strong attention to detail; excellent communication skills in English.
