Material Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement site material management procedures in alignment with company and project requirements.

• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

• Manage and control site material receiving, inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance processes.

• Maintain accurate inventory records using the material management system (e.g., SmartPlant Materials, SAP, or equivalent).

• Monitor material usage and consumption to identify potential shortages or overstock situations.

• Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, offloading, and internal distribution of materials.

• Ensure all materials are stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and project specifications.

• Oversee warehouse operations and ensure proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials.

• Conduct periodic stock audits, reconcile discrepancies, and generate inventory reports.

• Manage a team of storekeepers, material controllers, and logistics staff to ensure smooth site operations.

• Interface with QA/QC teams for material inspections and certification verifications.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during all material handling activities.

• Support project close-out by managing surplus materials, returns, and final material reconciliation.
