Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Review the production plan and translate it into material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and ensure data integrity in the planning system.
  • Generate and monitor purchase requisitions or orders to ensure timely material delivery.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid material shortages or excess.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory turnover, slow-moving, and obsolete materials.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and procurement to manage safety stock and lead times.

Supplier Coordination

  • Communicate material forecasts and schedules to suppliers.
  • Follow up with suppliers on delivery performance and resolve supply delays or quality issues.
  • Support supplier evaluation and improvement activities.

Production Support

  • Ensure all required materials are available before production start dates.
  • Prioritize and expedite material deliveries to avoid line stoppages.
  • Coordinate material substitution or rescheduling when supply issues occur.

Data & System Management

  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
  • Track and report key planning KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), inventory accuracy, and material shortage rate.
  • Support continuous improvement projects in planning and supply chain processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Procurement, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Sales teams.
  • Participate in daily/weekly production and supply review meetings.
  • Provide input for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Material Availability Rate
  • Production Line Stoppage Time (due to materials)
  • Inventory Turnover Ratio
  • Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Material Forecast Accuracy

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2 5 years of experience in material or production planning ( manufacturing or FMCG is a MUST).
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Excel.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification is a plus.
