Job Objectives:
- Primary Function
- The development and management of effective Cost Control and Materials Management processes for Drilling and Wellwork activities in the Field. This to be achieved through the merging of the two activities to balance cist vs supply both of services and materials.
- To integrate the Cost Control and Materials Management functions to provide a seamless, coordinated support function.
- Assess supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and timeliness of delivery.
- Drive the process of performance improvement through technology and/or changing work method
- Cost Control
- Coordinate with Section and Department heads to compile comprehensive annual work plan and budgets.
- Manage Budget spend on a daily and monthly basis to report against budget vs actual execution and cost.
- Balance normative costs vs invoiced costs.
- Run a year to date tracker which is then summarised monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Produce detailed monthly reports to present to management.
- Provide Cost dashboards for management reporting in Power BI, or equivalent.
- Prepare finance and spend forecasts to enable management to mange resources effectively and within budget.
- Develop fit for purpose systems, spreadsheets and reporting in Excel and using in formation derived from Maximo and individual Contracts to achieve job purpose.
- Materials Management
- To have primary oversight on the effective and suitable warehousing and storage of materials.
- To establish maximum and minim stock levels of all materials for drilling (new wells), workover and well integrity requirements which are based to current and predicted consumption.
- To produce comprehensive forecasts of materials requirements based upon current and predicted Wells drilling, workover and well integrity plans.
- To agree, with management approval, maximum and minimum values of materials inventory.
- To identify redundant stock and work with operational teams to use and/or dispose of redundant stock.
- To create and provide management reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis by means of spreadsheet and dashboard formats.
Desired Candidate Profile
Expected:
- Professional Diploma in SCM / Accounts / Finance.
- Bachelor degree / HND within Finance or Commerce and can document at least 10 years of experience within cost controlling in the Oil & Gas Drilling industry. Experience with accounts payable or supply chain management is desirable.
- Professional courses / certificates related to Drilling Industry.
- Drive the process of performance improvement through technology and/or changing work method
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cost control/materials management in Oil & Gas upstream industry.
- Good understanding of drilling & completion operations.
- Desirable to have hands-on experience of drilling & completion operations.
- Solid understanding of the demand / Supply Chain process, accounting principles in Oil & Gas upstream industry.
- Ability to work well with others in a culturally diverse; multi-functional team environment. Able to interact effectively with peers; service and contractor representatives.
- Strong computer skills are necessary with emphasis on MS Office tools, particularly Excel/Power BI and functional knowledge of Maximo or equivalent ERP system.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good accounting knowledge (Cost Allocations / Accruals etc).
