An MCV Draftsman plays a crucial role in the engineering and construction industries by creating detailed technical drawings and plans needed for the production and assembly of mechanical, structural, and other components. This position requires a solid understanding of engineering principles, as well as proficiency in using design software to convert conceptual designs into detailed diagrams that are used by engineers and manufacturers. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure that the specifications meet project requirements and standards. They must possess excellent attention to detail and an ability to visualize components in 3D. Moreover, problem-solving skills are essential for modifying designs to accommodate changes in project scope or constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical drawings using CAD software to precise specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements clearly.
• Maintain and update technical drawings based on changes requested by the engineering team.
• Prepare assembly drawings for fabrication and construction teams to facilitate the production process.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices.
• Participate in design review meetings to provide insights based on technical drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure drawings are aligned with project timelines.
• Conduct field visits to gather data and verify dimensions as needed for project accuracy.
• Assist in estimating materials and costs by providing detailed drawings and specifications.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in drawings that could affect the manufacturing process.
• Maintain an organized archive of drawings for easy retrieval and future reference.
• Ensure quality control by checking drawings before they are finalized for construction.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a draftsman, preferably within the mechanical construction industry.
• Proficiency in using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles relevant to mechanical construction and design.
• Exceptional attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate and precise designs.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with engineers and project teams.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into detailed production diagrams.
• Bachelor s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
