Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Action For Humanity (AFH) delivers high-impact humanitarian and development programmes in sectors including education, livelihoods, protection, and health. In Jordan, AFH supports vulnerable Syrian and Palestinian refugees as well as Jordanian host communities through sustainable and locally led initiatives.
The MEAL Officer will lead the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for the LIFE+ Programme, and other programmes that the Jordan office is working on, ensuring high-quality data collection, accountability to beneficiaries, and evidence-based programme improvement. The role is central to tracking progress against outputs and outcomes related to employability, income generation, and economic resilience.

Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in social sciences, statistics, economics, development studies, or related field
- A master s degree in a related discipline is desirable.
General Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 5 years of experience in MEAL or related roles in humanitarian/development programmes
- Experience working on livelihoods, TVET, or economic inclusion programmes preferred
- Proven experience in conducting baseline, midline, and endline assessments
- Experience with donor reporting and indicator tracking
- Experience working with INGOs and complex programmes is an asset
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of MEAL frameworks, log frames, and Theory of Change
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Familiarity with digital data collection tools (e.g. Kobo)
- Strong data management and visualization skills
- Understanding of accountability frameworks (e.g. CHS standards)
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with programme teams
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Arabic is required.
- Proficiency in English is highly desirable.
Abilities:
- MEAL System Development: Ability to design and implement effective MEAL frameworks, including indicators, tools, and data collection methodologies.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Strong ability to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to measure programme impact.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Skilled in tracking progress, conducting assessments, and ensuring data quality through field verification.
- Accountability & Feedback: Ability to establish and manage feedback mechanisms, ensuring beneficiary participation and timely response to complaints.
- Learning & Adaptation: Capable of generating insights, documenting lessons learned, and supporting programme improvements.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in data tools (e.g. Excel, Kobo) and data visualization for reporting and decision-making.
- Coordination & Capacity Building: Works collaboratively with teams and supports staff in strengthening MEAL systems and practices.
