Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Plant Workshop Mechanic Class 1, will be a key member of our maintenance team, specializing in mechanical systems and equipment within the plant workshop. This role involves hands-on mechanical work, including maintenance, PMs, troubleshooting, and repair activities. The Mechanic Class 1 is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficient operation of plant machinery, contributing to the overall success of the maintenance team.

  • Mechanical Maintenance for RS-ECH-ITVs Diesel and Electrical Forklift
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on MEWS equipment
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of mechanical systems.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

  • Identify and diagnose mechanical issues in plant equipment, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members and team leaders to address and resolve complex mechanical problems.

Equipment Upgrades and Modifications:

  • Participate in equipment upgrades, modifications, and retrofitting projects under the guidance of senior team members.

Assist in implementing improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of plant machinery

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance professionals, including electrical technicians and engineers, to optimize overall plant equipment performance.
  • Provide assistance and support to team members during maintenance activities.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of mechanical maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and equipment documentation.
  • Update and review equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and relevant documentation.

Tool and Equipment Management:

  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment used in mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Report any faulty tools or equipment for replacement or repair.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in mechanical systems.

Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized mechanical apprenticeship program.
  • Possession of a Class 1 Mechanic certification or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a plant or industrial setting, preferably with container terminal .
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
