Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform duties with compliance with maintenance management system. Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and Emergency Procedures manual.
Effectively participate in the Stop Observe Act Report (SOAR) program and encourage active participation.
Comply with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of RMS, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.
Undertake operational maintenance, planned maintenance and repairs on the mechanical equipment throughout the rig.
Ensure familiarity with machinery and systems, so that, in an emergency, essential services can safely be restored.
Perform watch-keeping duties as required.
Ensure that engine room logs, and maintenance records are completed as required.
Advise the Maintenance Supervisor of requirements for spare parts, materials, or services.
Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
Comply with company s Code of Conduct.
Report any faults to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Plan work before work commences and manage hazards effectively.
Operate, inspect, service, maintain, test and repair mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems & ability read and understand hydraulic Schematics and system drawings .
Service and repair refrigeration equipment and systems.
Set schedules to provide proper utilization of equipment and evaluate equipment s performance.
Show active participation in Hazard Management and Stop Work activities.
Effectively contribute to Management of Change and Non-Conformance Management through compliance with Change and Non-Conformance Procedures.
Create work plans for crews and ensure that parts, tools, equipment, and documentation are available for scheduled work.
Maintain records and logs required by the Company.
Write reports on major equipment failure, modifications, equipment performance and maintenance history, as required.
Maintain and input data in maintenance system & ability to do Preventive Maintenance forecasting .
Complete and hand over reports, logs, records and notes according to approved procedures and instructions.
Assist electrician when required as part of the maintenance team.
Review Company documentation with crew members as required.
Participate in document revisions as required.
Control inventory and budget.
Maintain contact with regulatory agencies as required.
Assist in the management of the mentoring process in accordance with the Mentoring Program, as applicable.
Demonstrate leadership through personal responsibility and accountability.
Participate in Competence Program.
Supervise and manage in accordance with supervisory roles and responsibilities (as applicable).
Implement frontline discipline in consultation with next level supervisor.
Participate in a leading role in relevant incident investigations.
Conduct formal and informal performance appraisals, which include measuring performance (as applicable).
Ensure direct reports roles and responsibilities are clearly discussed, as applicable.

Physically capable of performing emergency procedures including evacuations, fire drills, and other Emergencies.
Desired Candidate Profile
-
Mechanic Standard : Minimum of 3 years as a Mechanic Trainee on an offshore facility, or 2 years offshore experience as a Field Service Technician with a service company like NOV, Cameron, Seatrax, Letourneau or Caterpillar. Completion of ARO On the Job Training (OJT) for Mechanic.

Thorough knowledge in the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment such as cranes, top drives, draw works and mud pumps.

HVAC Universal Technician certificate.

Thorough knowledge in the operation and maintenance of marine engineering systems such as water, fuel, HVAC, and main engines.

Thorough knowledge in the operation and maintenance of Hydraulic systems.

Ability to read complex mechanical drawings and hydraulic schematics.

Ability to objectively analyze data, arrive at logical conclusions and make decisions in high-pressure situations. (e.g., downtime situations)

PC proficiency required - competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or greater.

Proficient in the use of machinery such as a pipe threading machine, hose crimping machine, and basic benchtop power tools,

Good interpersonal skills and excellent team working and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to Read/Write/Speak English Fluently. Bilingual with the additional ability to communicate in Arabic is preferred.

Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.

Must be capable of working in a confined Marine environment.

Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.

Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer s sole discretion.

Be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
