Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Mechanical Design Development Manager
Responsibilities:
- Design and manage all development activities within your scope (3D/2D/ST parts and supports)
- Create and maintain interfaces with different trades
- Prepare the Technical and Economic Development Sheets (FETE) and distribute them to suppliers
- Manage suppliers, review their plans and complete the APQP grid
- Participating in zone meetings, decisions and robustness
- Seeking technical cost savings ( ECOTECH )
- Write and share feedback ( lessons learned )
- Respect the deadlines for the Digital Model (DMM) and deliver the Digital Definitions (DDF) within the deadlines
- Participate in PSA/FRN convergence points on the quality file (PCP, requirements matrix, validation plan)
Required skills:
- Priority 1: SOD, PEPP, CATIA, mechanics, plastic parts, RFQ
- Build to Print Experience
- Good knowledge of plastics processing and manufacturing processes (plastic injection, blow molding)
- Proficiency in CAD tools and processes related to product development
- Good communication skills in French and English
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications: Master's degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering
- Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in the automotive sector, ideally in mechanical design.
- My proficiency with the following tools: CATIA V5/V6 , PLM
- Knowledge of project processes (APQP, ECR/ECO) and trade rules (BIW steelwork, stamping, fitting, electrical wiring)
- Ability to create 3D models, 2D plans and design components while respecting project constraints
- Good understanding of the V-model and numerical validation methods
- Skills in customer communication, responsiveness and teamwork
- Strong interest in technologies related to automotive design and mechanical innovation
