Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Prepare mechanical design drawings and shop drawings for construction projects.
• Develop and review BOQs related to mechanical works.
• Prepare all technical details and calculations.
• Ensure drawings reflect approved specifications and project scope.

Materials & Procurement Support

• Selection of mechanical materials in coordination with drawings and specifications.
• Provide materials specifications.
• Support procurement department in purchasing process of mechanical materials.

Coordination

• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical and other departments.
• Participate in meetings with clients and other departments.
• Technical Support for execution team.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with local and international codes and standards.
• Apply project specifications and quality requirements.
• Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Report non-conformities and support corrective actions.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain organized records of drawings, BOQs, and approvals.
• Escalate unresolved technical issues to the MEP Manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 5 years of experience in Mechanical design in construction or contracting environments
• Strong understanding of Mechanical systems and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of international standards (IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• BOQ preparation and material take-off skills.
