Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a key player in our engineering team, you will:
- Design innovative mechanical components for railway applications (bogies, chassis, braking systems, onboard equipment ).
- Bring concepts to life in 3D using CATIA V5 and 3D Experience, applying best in class ISO dimensioning and manufacturing standards.
- Define technical specifications that guide the development of high quality mechanical parts.
- Analyse project data and interfaces to ensure technical consistency and robust integration.
- Drive innovation, proposing solutions that enhance reliability, maintainability and overall system safety.
- Manage CAD deliverables and contribute to product evolution via PLM / DMA tools.
- Collaborate with industrialization and production teams to ensure component feasibility and quality.
- Apply welding and piping standards (ISO, EN, ASME) across all design phases.
- Take part in multidisciplinary design reviews and integration workshops (electrical, electronic, structural).
- Stay ahead of trends by monitoring new technologies, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Support project teams, suppliers and workshops with expert technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with railway interoperability standards and industry regulations.
- Perform or leverage simulations (static, dynamic, fatigue) to validate design performance.
- Use advanced documentation and configuration tools to manage product data efficiently.
- Embed sustainability and safety considerations (noise/vibration, passive safety) in every design decision.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 2 to 5 years of experience in the railway industry, ideally in mechanical design or system development.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong skills in CATIA V5 / 3D Experience, 3D modelling, and mechanical design principles.
- Solid understanding of railway standards, interoperability requirements and industrial manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively with cross functional teams.
- A proactive, solution oriented mindset with a passion for engineering excellence and innovation.
