Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary
The Mechanical Engineer reviews mechanical design and equipment documentation to ensure reliability, integrity, and compliance with applicable
codes and refinery practices.

Key Responsibilities
Review mechanical design basis and specifications.
Review datasheets and technical documents for pressure vessels,
columns, heat exchangers, pumps, and rotating equipment.
Verify compliance with ASME, API, and refinery standards.
Review materials of construction, corrosion allowance, and design life.
Review vendor drawings, calculations, and technical bids.
Verify accessibility, maintainability, lifting provisions, and inspection
requirements.
Participate in mechanical aspects of HAZOP and safety reviews.
Identify design gaps, risks, or non-compliance and request corrective
actions.
Confirm that mechanical design supports long-term safe operation.
