Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and review mechanical systems and components for high-voltage substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare and evaluate technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for substation mechanical installations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and civil components.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as HVAC, fire protection, and cooling systems within substations.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems during construction and operation phases.
  • Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for mechanical engineering tasks.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors to review equipment specifications and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to substation mechanical engineering.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • 3 to 6 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on substation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in substations, including HVAC, fire protection, and cooling systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ASHRAE).
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
