Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and review mechanical systems and components for high-voltage substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Prepare and evaluate technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for substation mechanical installations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and civil components.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as HVAC, fire protection, and cooling systems within substations.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems during construction and operation phases.
- Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for mechanical engineering tasks.
- Liaise with vendors and contractors to review equipment specifications and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to substation mechanical engineering.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on substation projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in substations, including HVAC, fire protection, and cooling systems.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ASHRAE).
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
