Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise and lead mechanical inspection activities on assigned projects.
Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures related to mechanical works.
Monitor installation, erection, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
Conduct inspections for piping, pressure vessels, tanks, static and rotating equipment, HVAC systems, and mechanical packages as applicable.
Verify material delivery, storage, handling, and installation to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
Witness and monitor pressure testing, hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, cleaning, and functional testing activities.
Ensure welding, NDT, coating, and insulation activities comply with approved procedures and relevant standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and site teams to resolve mechanical quality issues.
Identify non-conformances (NCRs), ensure corrective actions are implemented, and verify closure.
Maintain inspection records, daily reports, test records, and quality documentation.
Review as-built drawings and ensure mechanical works are accurately reflected.
Support project management in achieving schedule, quality, and cost objectives.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and site staff.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during inspection activities.
Attend progress meetings, inspections, and coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
Verify punch list items and ensure mechanical systems are completed prior to handover.
Support commissioning, start-up, and final acceptance of mechanical systems.
Liaise with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure integrated project execution.
Report inspection findings and project status to the Project Manager and QA/QC Manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
For Inspector 5-10 Years & More than 15 years’ experience for Senior Inspector in the Oil and Gas field projects including experience in activities relevant to rotating equipment and machinery, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and engines.
Must be experienced as Site TPI for inspection and monitoring of mechanical works related to rotating (pumps, compressors, turbines) and static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers).
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Ensure equipment is installed and aligned per manufacturer specifications and project procedures (shaft alignment, grouting, soft foot, etc.).
Witness equipment testing such as hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, mechanical run tests, and alignment checks.
Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly, and erection of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with WPS, PQR, and project specifications.
Verify material certificates, inspection and test reports (ITRs), and documentation as per ITPs.
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports.
Computer literate and familiarity with International Standards related to Mechanical activities (ASME, API, ASTM, BS, etc.)
Holding UAE Driving license.
