Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of storage tanks (fabrication, erection, repair, and maintenance) in accordance with project specifications and standards

  • Ensure compliance with API 653, API 650, and applicable international codes

  • Conduct fit-up inspections, dimensional checks, alignment, and visual inspections of tank components

  • Monitor and inspect welding activities in line with approved WPS/PQR and procedures

  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities (UT, RT, MT, PT, vacuum box testing, etc.) and review reports

  • Inspect hydrostatic testing, leak testing, and tank calibration activities

  • Verify material certificates (MTC), traceability, and consumable control

  • Ensure proper surface preparation, coating, and painting inspections are carried out

  • Raise Inspection Requests (IRs) and coordinate with client/consultant for approvals

  • Identify non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented

  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, and records

  • Ensure compliance with ITPs, QA/QC plans, and site procedures

  • Coordinate with construction, welding, and inspection teams to ensure quality standards are met

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in tank inspection (Oil & Gas / storage tanks preferred)

  • Mandatory certification: API 653 (Tank Inspector)

  • Strong knowledge of API 653, API 650, and tank inspection procedures

  • Experience in tank erection, repair, and maintenance inspection

  • Familiar with welding inspection and NDT coordination

  • Knowledge of hydrotesting, leak testing, and tank calibration

  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and inspection documentation

  • Familiar with material traceability and quality control processes

  • Knowledge of coating and painting inspection

  • Familiar with ADNOC standards (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills in English (spoken and written)

  • Ability to work under site conditions

  • Immediate joiners preferred
