Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate mechanical shop drawings and as-built drawings in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall project plans.
- Conduct technical evaluations of mechanical materials, equipment, and systems, ensuring compliance with design requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and solutions to site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Review and interpret project contracts, specifications, and tender documents to identify and resolve discrepancies or technical issues.
- Prepare and submit technical submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and method statements for client and consultant approval.
- Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and ensure timely completion of technical office tasks.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization efforts by proposing alternative materials or systems where appropriate.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of all technical office activities, correspondence, and approvals.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all technical office operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 5 years of experience in a technical office role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing mechanical shop drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
