Job Title: Mechanical Technician – SWRO O&M Project

Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) – Operations & Maintenance
Reports to: Mechanical Supervisor / O&M Manager

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of the SWRO desalination plant. This includes pumps, valves, piping, pressure vessels, and rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps (high-pressure, booster, feedwater), valves, filters, and rotating machinery.
  • Carry out alignment, vibration checks, and performance tests on mechanical systems.
  • Identify mechanical faults and execute timely repairs or replacements.
  • Assist in overhauls and installation of new mechanical equipment as needed.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, reports, and inventory of mechanical spare parts.
  • Collaborate with electrical and instrumentation teams for integrated system maintenance.
  • Comply with plant safety rules, LOTO procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Support plant shutdown and start-up operations as required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in SWRO, utilities, or process plant settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to water treatment and desalination.
  • Familiar with troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes, seals, valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms for job planning and reporting.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Physically fit and able to work in hot and humid environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
