Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Under the authority of the director of the Meknes site and the general secretary, the main missions of the media manager are as follows:
Implementation of the media library project and monitoring of activity through the development of statistics;
Design, management and evaluation of acquisition and loan policies;
Co-operation of the documentary policy, evaluation and development of collections with the director of the Meknes site;
Management and supervision of a team of 3 people;
Economic library management: control of cataloguing, indexing of works and weeding;
Cleaning of the database;
Implementation of new classifications;
Preparation and monitoring of the sectoral budget, monitoring and management of orders;
PMB administration;
Project manager La Cigogne volubile, Le Printemps des livres jeunesse du Maroc;
Proposal and implementation of conference cycles and activities;
Proposal and implementation of mediation actions for Language Courses and external audiences: guided tours, class receptions, media tours
Proposal and implementation of off-site activities aimed at developing and strengthening the influence of the media library;
Proposing and carrying out actions aimed at developing the student public;
Implementation of the communication plan specific to the activities of the media library;
Monitoring and public relations in the book and publishing sector in Morocco.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
University diploma in book trades (Bac +4/5) strongly recommended
Experience in animation is essential
Experience in media or bookstore would be desirable
All references are subject to verification
Know-how
Mastery of documentary techniques;
Ability to supervise and work in a team;
Ability to manage and lead projects;
Mastery of current office automation and library management tools;
Mastery of current internet and database research methodologies;
Mastery of information technologies and their integration into the development of a media library.
Desired knowledge
Knowledge of NTIC, library software (PMB);
Very good general knowledge and knowledge of current book developments in France and Morocco;
Knowledge of library science;
Good knowledge of French editorial production and French-speaking cultures;
Mastery of the French language (spoken, read, written) essential;
Knowledge of dialectal Arabic desired;
Personal qualities
Dynamism, availability and spirit of initiative;
Autonomous, responsible, sense of public service;
Rigor and sense of organization/planning;
Sense of contact and relations with the public;
Good team leader;
Sure actionable qualities;
Interpersonal skills, taste for teamwork, ability to listen and analyze expressed needs;
Good capacity for openness and adaptation to a foreign context.
