Job requirements

The media library of the French Institute in Tangier boasts a collection of 20,000 documents (in all formats) and is divided into 3 distinct areas. It comprises an adult section, a children's section, and a teen section. 

In February 2026, the media library moved into the new premises of the French Institute in Tangier, which had been completely renovated and refurbished. 

It offers an annual program of events and literary gatherings and works closely with other departments to implement cross-cutting initiatives. 

 Training: 

A university degree in book-related professions (Bachelor's +4/5) is highly recommended. 

Experience in animation is essential 

Experience in a library or bookstore would be desirable. 

All references are subject to verification. 

Expertise 

Mastery of documentary techniques; 

Ability to supervise and work in a team; 

Ability to manage and lead projects; 

Proficiency in standard office and library management tools; 

Proficiency in internet research methodologies and common databases; 

Mastery of information technologies and their integration in the development of a media library. 

Desired knowledge 

Knowledge of ICT, library software (PMB); 

Very good general knowledge and knowledge of current book news in France and Morocco; 

Knowledge of library science; 

Good knowledge of French publishing production and Francophone cultures; 

Proficiency in the French language (spoken, read, written) is essential; 

Knowledge of dialectal Arabic is desirable; 

Personal qualities 

Dynamism, availability and initiative; 

Autonomous, responsible, with a sense of public service; 

Rigour and sense of organisation/planning; 

Sense of contact and relations with the public; 

Good team leader; 

Writing skills; 

Interpersonal skills, a taste for teamwork, the ability to listen to and analyze expressed needs; 

Good ability to be open and adaptable to an international context.
