Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical & Life Underwriting Team Leader to join our biggest client's underwriting division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical and life insurance underwriting, excellent analytical abilities, and proven leadership skills to guide a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise and guide the underwriting team to ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, and service SLAs.
  • Review and approve medical and life insurance applications in line with company risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of underwriting documentation and data entry.
  • Oversee post-underwriting activities such as policy issuance, renewals, and coordination with medical providers and brokers.
  • Implement process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reports to management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years of underwriting experience in the insurance sector (medical/life).
  • Skills:
    Strong knowledge of medical and life underwriting principles
    Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
    Leadership and team management abilities
    Proficiency in MS Office and insurance systems
  • Age: 25 – 35 years
