Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests to form comprehensive treatment plans.
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, ensuring ongoing monitoring and adjustments to therapy as needed.
- Act as a primary care provider, coordinating care among specialists and ensuring that patients receive holistic management for their health issues.
- Educate patients about disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and adherence to medical regimens to empower them in their health management.
- Utilize evidence-based medicine to develop and implement treatment protocols while staying current with the latest research and clinical guidelines.
- Perform routine procedures such as joint injections, skin biopsies, and other minor outpatient surgeries as part of comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance patient outcomes and optimize healthcare delivery within the practice.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records to facilitate continuity of care and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including nurses, pharmacists, and social workers—to address complex patient needs and enhance health services.
- Provide mentorship and training for medical students and residents, fostering the next generation of internal medicine professionals.
Desired Candidate Profile
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution, with a focus on internal medicine.
Completion of a residency program in internal medicine, with board certification or eligibility by a recognized medical board.
Fluency in Malayalam proficiency in additional languages is a plus to cater to diverse patient populations.
