Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This position focuses on the coordination and technical supervision of M dicos del Mundo (MdM Spain) MHPSS intervention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (West Bank and Gaza Strip), as well as ensuring its quality and alignment with MDM MHPSS strategy.

Functions

MHPSS Strategy and Quality Interventions

  • Support the development, implementation, and regular update of the MHPSS strategy, ensuring its integration across programmes implemented in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
  • Ensure the technical quality and ethical standards of all MHPSS interventions, in line with MdM and international guidelines, and adapted to the complexity of the context and the evolving humanitarian situation.
  • Design, adapt and update MHPSS protocols, procedures, and tools to strengthen consistency, quality, and the continuum of care across different levels of intervention.
  • Ensure that cross-cutting approaches (including gender, protection, human rights, cultural and anthropological considerations) are systematically integrated in MHPSS strategy and activities.
  • Contribute to the identification and formulation of new proposals, ensuring that MHPSS components are evidence-based, contextually adapted, and aligned with MdM strategic priorities.
  • Support the updating of MdM s technical MHPSS framework to reflect the specific challenges of the Occupied Palestinian Territory

Capacity Building and Technical Supervision

  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to MHPSS staff, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to clinical and ethical standards.
  • Identify training and supervision needs and design a capacity-building plan for MHPSS teams, delivered directly or through external resources, emphasizing contextually sensitive and self-care approaches.
  • Support the mentoring and capacity development of MHPSS Referents and field teams to strengthen local ownership, sustainability, and leadership in MHPSS programming.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Develop or adapt tools for qualitative and quantitative data collection, ensuring systematic analysis and use of findings to improve program design and practice.
  • Contribute to situation analyses, assessments, and periodic reporting, ensuring that complex MHPSS cases and context-specific challenges are documented and reflected in internal and donor reports.

Coordination and Advocacy

  • Ensure close collaboration with the coordination and technical team when applicable in the field and head quarters.
  • Participate in the mechanisms of humanitarian coordination within the scope of its competences, and if necessary, represent M dicos del Mundo towards institutions, organizations and media.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with public and private actors and with the international network of MDM, which intervene in the same sectoral and/or geographical areas.
  • Contribute to the implementation and follow-up of the advocacy strategy.
  • Actively participate in MdM s International Network and MHPSS steering groups, contributing to global learning and exchange.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required qualifications

Academic: Graduated in Psychology or Medicine with specialty in psychiatry or psychotherapy. Complementary training in clinical work is an asset (accredited courses, masters in clinical psychology).

Complementary: Training in gender and gender-based violence, project cycle management.

Languages: C1 English level is mandatory, B1 Spanish and Arabic level are strong assets.

Computer requirements: Management of MS-Office is required.

Requirements

Language: Fluent English (written and spoken). Arabic is a major asset.

Computer requirements: Office pack user level.

Minimum requirements

Experience

  • Working experience in MHPSS in humanitarian contexts and INGOs for minimum 3 years.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical psychology practice and in the technical supervision of multidisciplinary MHPSS teams delivering direct mental health and psychosocial support services.
  • Experience in team management, coordination and advocacy are strong assets.
  • Knowledge of the context of the Occupied Palestinian Territory or Middle-East is a strong asset.
