Roles & Responsibilities

A Menu Specialist is responsible for designing, updating, and optimizing restaurant menus based on market trends, cost analysis, and customer preferences. They ensure high-quality food, profitability, and, in some cases, nutritional compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Menu Development & Design: Creating new, appealing dishes and updating existing menus to reflect current culinary trends.
  • Cost Optimization : Analyzing food costs and implementing strategies to improve profitability.
  • Nutritional Compliance (if applicable): Reviewing nutritional value and ensuring food safety standards.
  • Market Analysis : Evaluating competitor offerings and customer preferences in the local Jordanian market.
  • Menu Engineering : Utilizing data to determine the placement and pricing of items for maximum sales.
  • Training & Implementation : Training service staff on new menu items, ingredients, and descriptions.

Desired Candidate Profile

requiring a background in nutrition/food science and 5+ years of experience

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in food costing, menu design, and strong knowledge of F&B industry trends in Jordan.
