Job Description

The MEP Document Controller is a crucial role within the construction and engineering sectors, responsible for managing and maintaining all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documents necessary for project completion. This role ensures that all documents are stored correctly, up to date, and easily retrievable for project stakeholders. As an MEP Document Controller, you will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site staff to ensure that all documentation complies with project standards and industry regulations. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach are essential for success in this position. An MEP Document Controller plays a vital role in safeguarding project delivery by minimizing document-related risks and delays.


Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate organization and archiving of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documents.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date document control system for the project.
  • Coordinate with project teams to schedule and manage document review processes.
  • Receive, log, and distribute project-related documents and ensure proper tracking.
  • Manage the flow of documents between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Verify the accuracy and compliance of documents with project standards and regulations.
  • Provide document control support to project managers and engineers as needed.
  • Organize and conduct regular document audits to ensure system effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the retrieval of documents for teams and stakeholders upon request.
  • Ensure version control and document history are maintained for all project files.
  • Collaborate in setting up and maintaining an efficient filing system.
  • Assist in training team members on document management procedures.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in document control, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documentations and standards.
  • Proficient in using document management software and filing systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with document control regulations and industry best practices.
