Roles & Responsibilities

MEP engineer has to review drawings and specifications of the project and ensure work is executed accordingly.
MEP Engineer has to prepare plans, details, and do cost estimation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and Fire Fighting.
MEP Engineer has to provide technical details to the draughtsman, supervisor, foreman regarding installation and maintenance of MEP System.
MEP Engineer has to analyze Mechanical engineering design problems and formulate solutions with the specification.
MEP Engineer has to identify problems related to planning and come up with solution in advance
He should be Proactive all the time
MEP Engineer has to review and evaluate the design of consultants through HAP calculations Static Calculation, Pump Calculations and highlight any discrepancies.
MEP Engineer should know MS Office Auto Cad
Advise the MEP Manager of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, e.g., quality or snag.
Continually review the Main contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of the site works regarding MEP services and report to the MEP Manager on the same.
Manage the day-to-day work of the MEP team.
In conjunction with the document controller, ensure that the filing/logging of the MEP documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same.
Report any risks associated with MEP installations or general projects to the Project Manager.
Ensure the installation is carried out as per method statements.
Review shop drawings against the tender drawings for compliance with the design and return to Project Manager with appropriate comments within the specified contractual period
Review mechanical shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering coordination and advise the Project Manager accordingly.
Where required, prepare technical clarifications to suit specific on-site construction and coordination issues.
Review and ensure that mechanical services material proposals are in compliance to tender requirements.
Monitor and promote health and safety on the site.
Attend site progress meetings, and any mechanical services-related technical meetings.
Provide advice to the MEP Manager regarding any MEP services related to variable costs that the Company may claim during the works.
He should be able to meet and discuss with Civil contractors for generating new enquiries.
Whenever required he should work after office hours to complete assignment within committed time.
