Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
An MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, coordination, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP works are completed according to specifications, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and design mechanical (HVAC), electrical (lighting, power), and plumbing (water supply, drainage, fire fighting) systems.
Review MEP drawings, technical submittals, and BOQs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, consultants, and contractors for system integration.
Supervise installation and commissioning of MEP systems on-site.
Conduct inspections and testing of MEP systems (e.g., pressure testing, insulation, lighting).
Identify and resolve technical issues and site clashes (especially with structural or architectural elements).
Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
3 5 years of experience in MEP design and site execution.
Experience in construction projects such as commercial buildings, hospitals, or infrastructure.
Knowledge of relevant codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IPC, etc.).
