Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
What You ll Be Doing
- Provide MEP technical oversight and governance across all roads, tunnels, utilities, and structures packages within the program.
- Act as the PMO focal point for all MEP-related matters, ensuring alignment between design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Review and provide technical assurance for MEP designs for tunnel ventilation, power supply, lighting, firefighting systems, drainage pumping, SCADA, utility diversions, and control systems.
- Ensure MEP systems comply with local authority requirements, relevant international standards, and RCRC design criteria.
- Lead and support design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering workshops for MEP systems.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate MEP-related technical, interface, and delivery risks at the program level.
- Coordinate interfaces among MEP systems and civil, structural, ITS, traffic, and utility disciplines.
- Support the PMO in preparation of technical reports, decision papers, dashboards, and executive summaries related to MEP scope.
- Guide MEP commissioning strategy, testing, operational readiness, and handover, particularly for tunnel and critical infrastructure systems.
- Review contractors method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, inspection and test plans (ITPs) related to MEP works.
- Support cost, schedule, and change management processes by providing MEP technical inputs and impact assessments.
- Liaise with authorities, utilities providers, and stakeholders to support approvals and coordination activities.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and discipline specialists within the PMO structure.
- Promote safety in design, sustainability, resilience, and lifecycle performance of MEP systems across the program.
What Required Skills You ll Bring
- Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in MEP engineering on large-scale roads, tunnels, and infrastructure projects.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent internationally recognized professional registration.
- Demonstrated experience in tunnel MEP systems, including ventilation, power distribution, lighting, life safety, firefighting, drainage, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems associated with roads and urban infrastructure, including utilities corridors and interface management.
- Proven experience working within PMO or program-level roles on major infrastructure programs.
- Knowledge of international and regional standards relevant to roads and tunnels MEP systems (e.g., NFPA, IEC, BS, EN, local Saudi authority standards).
- Experience in design management, technical assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and risk management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
