Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Our client is a growing construction-focused company supporting commercial projects across multiple sectors, including schools, hotels, and industrial buildings. They are seeking an MEP Estimator to support project bidding, cost analysis, and estimating efforts for large-scale commercial MEP systems.
Role Overview
The MEP Estimator will perform take-offs, prepare estimates for commercial MEP systems, and support competitive bids for large-scale construction projects. This role focuses primarily on plumbing and electrical systems while collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Take-Offs

Perform detailed take-offs for commercial MEP systems, primarily plumbing and electrical.

Prepare accurate estimates for projects including schools, hotels, and industrial facilities.

Review construction drawings and specifications to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
Bidding & Proposal Support

Collaborate with project managers to prepare competitive project bids.

Identify potential project risks and include contingencies within estimates.

Ensure timely submission of estimates for project opportunities.
Software & Tools
-
Utilize estimating and take-off software including Plan Hub, Build Connect, Blue Beam, and Stack.

Maintain organized digital records of estimates, drawings, and project documentation.

Apply software tools to improve estimating accuracy and workflow efficiency.
Collaboration & Communication
-
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to confirm project scope and requirements.

Provide input regarding project feasibility, materials, and scheduling considerations.

Support procurement and project planning through detailed cost breakdowns and estimating documentation.
Qualifications Experience
-
2+ years of experience as an MEP Estimator within commercial construction environments.

Experience estimating plumbing and electrical systems for commercial projects.

Experience working with estimating and take-off software platforms.
Skills
-
Strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.

Proficiency with Plan Hub, Build Connect, Blue Beam, Stack, or similar estimating tools.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple estimating projects and deadlines efficiently.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
