Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize project budgets while maintaining quality and performance levels.
- Manage subcontractor agreements, monitoring compliance with contract terms and ensuring timely payment for work completed.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to assess project scope and make informed decisions on resource allocation.
- Analyze and review tender documents, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the bidding process.
- Assist in claims management by preparing substantiated variations and defending against disputes with accurate calculations.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and validate work completed against the project schedule and budget.
- Utilize advanced software tools for estimating and project management to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and regulations affecting the MEP sector to inform decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.
- A minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in MEP Quantity Surveying is required to ensure competency in the role.
- Familiarity with local codes, standards, and regulations relevant to MEP systems is crucial for compliant project execution.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software such as CostX or Bluebeam enhances efficiency in preparing estimates.
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to evaluate complex data and derive actionable insights for cost management.
- Excellent communication abilities are essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders and negotiating contracts.
- Attention to detail is critical in identifying discrepancies in estimates and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- A proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset are vital for overcoming challenges and driving project success.
