Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

I. Job Responsibilities

  • Be primarily responsible for the drawing of MEP Shop drawing (MEP detailed design drawings), strictly follow local Dubai MEP construction codes, safety standards and relevant authoritative department requirements, ensure that the drawings meet the project design, actual construction needs and Dubai drawing submission and approval regulations, and guarantee drawing accuracy and efficiency.

  • Undertake the review of MEP Shop drawing, strictly examine the completeness, accuracy and compliance of the drawings, focus on identifying design conflicts and technical hazards that do not comply with local Dubai codes, project owners and supervision requirements, put forward practical optimization suggestions suitable for local construction and promote their rectification, so as to ensure that the drawings pass the review of local supervision and relevant departments smoothly.

  • Take the lead in establishing and managing a localized technical team, arrange the team's work tasks in combination with the characteristics of the Dubai workplace, guide team members to be familiar with Dubai drawing standards and submission and approval processes, improve the overall technical level and work efficiency of the team, and adapt to the progress rhythm of local projects.

  • Be responsible for multi-disciplinary comprehensive coordination, connect with all parties of local Dubai projects (design consultants, construction units, supervision institutions, owners and local core stakeholders such as EMAAR and NAKHEEL), take the lead in completing the entire process of supervision submission and approval, skillfully handle technical disputes and communication difficulties in the local submission and approval process, ensure the efficient approval of submission and approval work, and avoid project progress delays caused by submission and approval issues.

  • Deeply combine local Dubai MEP construction codes, Emiratization policy requirements and project reality, optimize the MEP Shop drawing work process, promote technical standardization and localization, avoid local policy and technical compliance risks, ensure the orderly progress of the technical links of the project, and meet the requirements of Dubai's strict local construction acceptance standards.

  • Cooperate with the company's local Dubai team to provide relevant technical support for projects, participate in the discussion of local technical schemes, and provide professional technical opinions in combination with Dubai industry practices and compliance requirements to help the project meet local market needs.



II. Job Requirements

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree or above in MEP Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related majors. Candidates with relevant professional engineer certificates that have been certified by relevant local departments in Dubai are preferred, and must meet the qualification requirements of the Dubai workplace.

  • Work Experience: More than 10 years of work experience in the Dubai region; candidates with work experience as a Technical Manager in local Dubai MEP construction units are preferred. Deeply familiar with local Dubai MEP construction codes, supervision submission and approval processes, MEP Shop drawing industry standards and Emiratization policy requirements; understand the practices of the local Dubai construction industry and the working modes of core partners (supervision, owners); candidates with overall technical management experience in local projects are preferred.

  • Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in MEP Shop drawing skills, master drawing software such as AutoCAD and Revit, able to independently complete the drawing of complex MEP detailed design drawings, and familiar with local Dubai drawing standards and the format requirements of submission and approval drawings;

  • Possess professional MEP Shop drawing review capabilities, able to accurately identify inconsistencies between drawings and local Dubai codes and actual construction conditions, put forward reasonable optimization suggestions in combination with local construction conditions, and reduce the rework rate of submission and approval;

  • Possess excellent overall coordination and cross-cultural communication skills, able to lead the team to efficiently complete the connection with all local parties in Dubai and the supervision submission and approval work, be good at solving various technical and process problems in local communication, and adapt to the multicultural workplace environment in Dubai.

  • Quality Requirements: Possess strong sense of responsibility, leadership and team management capabilities, be familiar with the local Dubai workplace management model, work rigorously and carefully, be able to withstand the pressure of local project progress, have good professional quality and execution ability, and respect local Dubai culture and religious customs (such as working hour regulations during Ramadan).

  • Language Requirements: Fluent in English listening, speaking, reading and writing, able to skillfully connect with local Dubai supervision, construction, owners and other parties, and carry out work communication, document processing and submission and approval connection without obstacles; proficiency in Arabic is preferred, which can improve local communication efficiency.
