Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Analyst to join our retail home showroom team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing product assortment, managing inventory levels, and analyzing sales data to drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Inventory Analysis: Analyze sales data and inventory levels to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports and actionable insights to the merchandising team.
Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and promotional activities. Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accurate demand planning and stock replenishment.
Product Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of product lines, categories, and individual items. Make recommendations for product introductions, discontinuations, and pricing adjustments.
Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences. Use this information to support strategic planning and product selection.
Promotional Planning: Assist in planning and executing promotional activities. Analyze the impact of promotions on sales and profitability, and suggest improvements for future campaigns.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales, inventory, and market data. Utilize data visualization tools to present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration: Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure a cohesive approach to product management and sales optimization.
Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate favorable terms.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience in a merchandising, retail, or analytical role.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of retail math and inventory management principles.
