Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Planning & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing seasonal sales plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Support assortment planning based on trends, past performance, and market insights.
  • Monitor weekly/monthly sales to track performance against plans.

2. Inventory & Allocation

  • Coordinate with buyers and warehouse teams to ensure timely stock availability.
  • Assist in allocation and replenishment planning for stores.
  • Track stock levels, slow movers, and fast sellers to support decision-making.

3. Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly sales, sell-through, and inventory reports.
  • Analyze category performance and highlight risks or opportunities.
  • Support markdown planning and end-of-season management.

4. Coordination

  • Liaise with buying, marketing, and store teams for product launches and promotions.
  • Coordinate with vendors for product information and shipment details.

5. Trend & Market Understanding

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity.
  • Contribute ideas for improving product assortment and planning processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree from NIFT (Fashion Management, Merchandising, or related field).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • 0–2 years of experience in merchandising, planning, fashion retail, or related roles.
  • Fresh NIFT graduates may also apply.
