Microcement Technician

Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Microcement Technician to join our finishing team. In this role you will apply and finish microcement coatings on walls, floors, staircases, joinery transitions and other architectural surfaces. Your workmanship will contribute to delivering seamless, high-quality surfaces that combine aesthetics with durability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for microcement application: cleaning, priming, smoothing, repairing minor defects, ensuring proper adhesion.

• Mix microcement materials (base coat, finish coat, sealer) and apply them according to manufacturer specifications and project design.

• Apply microcement on various surfaces (walls, floors, stairs, furniture interfaces, joinery panels) to achieve the required texture/finish, ensuring uniform thickness and consistent look.

• Use tools such as trowels, floats, sanders, protection film, and relevant coatings to achieve smooth transitions, sharp edges, polished surfaces or matte/textured effects as specified.

• Coordinate with carpentry/joinery/fit-out teams to interface microcement finishes with other materials (wood, metal, tile, glass), handle joint details and expansion gaps.

• Apply sealing and top finish coats and inspect for defects (cracks, blisters, unevenness) and perform remedial work to achieve premium finish.

• Clean up work area, protection of surrounding finishes, ensure material wastage is minimized, and ensure site housekeeping and safety compliance.

• Follow project schedules, communicate with site supervisor/finishing lead about materials, delays, substrate issues or design changes.
