Job Description

The role



Our office in Dubai offers a full service which is completely integrated with, and supported by, our global network. We advise clients on major transactions and projects in the Middle East and beyond.

Our impressive Real Estate team is part of our Middle East Real Estate & Construction practice. The teams clients include public and private real estate developers, large corporates, global and regional financial investors and asset managers, as well as various well known lenders, operators and brands.

This is an opportunity to join one of the leading Real Estate teams in the region and to work on some of the regions most complex and high profile mandates. The work primarily focuses on large development projects, investment deals (both direct and indirect), real estate financing, as well as major transactions in the hospitality and entertainment sectors.

Notable transactions:

  • The Walt Disney Company on its strategic partnership with Miral for the development and operation of a new Disney theme park resort on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
  • Advising DP World on the sale of a minority stake in its strategic UAE assets (Jebel Ali Port, Jebel Ali Free Zone and National Industries Park) to CDPQ for US$5 billion
  • Advising Aldar on its proposed entry into a retail joint venture with Mubadala Investment Company PJSC
  • Advising Wynn Resorts in connection with the development of Wynn Al Marjan Island, a multi-billion-dollar integrated resort on Ras Al Khaimah s Al Marjan Island Island 3
  • Advising Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) on at least 21 hotel management transactions as part of the first hospitality phase at the giga-project in Qiddiya, KSA

Qualifications

Your experience



  • 3-5 years post-qualified experience advising on real estate acquisitions and disposals (direct and indirect), landlord and tenant matters, real estate development and asset due diligence.
  • Some real estate finance experience is useful
  • Have a detailed and strong knowledge of commercial and legal issues affecting the real estate sector.
  • You will have strong legal skills with the ability to provide commercial solutions.
  • Good transactional and management skills.
  • Experience of taking a leading role in advising clients, supervising junior Lawyers/ trainees and completing transactions.
  • You will enjoy working in a busy and supportive team, supervising others and liaising with Lawyers in other practice areas and/or offices in the firm.
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • Stellar academic record
  • All candidates should be fluent in English and will have previous experience working in a similarly high-profile, international law firm.
  • In all cases, candidates should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach; excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills; and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team. You must also have exceptional results throughout your academic history.
